Description | Title: Administrative Assistant - School Professional III
Primary Objective:
- Provide assistance to all visitors, staff, and students to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the building with an awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Works well with minimal supervision and able to effectively and efficiently prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with attention to detail
- Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Friendly and professional attitude as well as discretion in matters relating to students, parents, staff members and office business matters. Works well with others
- Computer skills necessary
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Adept at learning and using other related software and web-based programs: student management system, i.e., Skyward

- Principal, Assistant Principal

- Per MCSA Negotiated Agreement
Essential Job Functions:
- Greet and assist students, staff, and visitors
- Screen all visitors through the Hall Pass monitoring system
- Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls
- Respond to the intercom system
- Perform general clerical, typing, mail distribution, and other duties as needed
- Deliver messages to students and teachers
- Keep the school calendar current
- Assist with projects when needed
- Maintain the “Virtual Backpack” bulletin board in vestibule
- Track students in regards to tardiness and early dismissal
- Notify the Administrative Assistant in charge of attendance of needed changes in student emergency procedure information
- Works school activities as assigned by the building administration, e.g., registration, back-to-school days, open house, etc.
- Update and maintain teacher class schedules
- Provide assistance with student dismissal
- Gather materials from teachers for student absences and disciplinary actions
- Perform student management tasks as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bending, carrying, climbing, lifting, pushing-pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, and walking
- Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or push items of 30 lbs.
Working Conditions:
- Includes extremes of temperature and humidity
- Hazards include stairs and communicable diseases
Terms of Employment:
- 179 days per year (includes 3 paid holidays), 7 hours per day
