Description | Title: Food Server
Primary Objective:
- Provide assistance to all students and staff to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the Food Service department with an awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- Works well with minimal supervision; able to follow instructions
- Friendly and professional attitude; works well with others
- Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the staff and students.
- A cooperative spirit and an understanding and interest in the well-being of children.

Essential Job Functions:
- Serves the scheduled lunch to students and staff.
- Transports hot units and other items needed for lunch at MES and MIS.
- Counts the food menu items between lunch lines; notifies the cook of what food remains and what might be needed for next line
- If the line runs short of food menu items, server needs to check with the other huts for items; then notifies the cook.
- Assists the cook in distributing the needed food menu items to the huts between lines.
- Stocks milk the hut milk coolers as needed; counts and records in the milk books before the first line; end of day count milk record in the milk books.
- Wash and put away all the dishes used for the day.
- Assists the cook with the preparation of the daily entrée and helps set up the scheduled entrée for the next few days, as needed.
- Prepares utensil set ups for the following day; pulls supplies needed for the day or days as requested.
- Check the refrigerator in break room to make sure it is empty Tuesday afternoon.
- Assist with checking in orders from vendors and government deliveries
- Assist with putting away stock and rotates as needed in pantry, refrigerator and freezer
- Assists with other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bending, carrying, climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, and walking
- Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or push items of 30 lbs.
